May 2026 | Dr. Hu attended Hafeez’s PhD defense at KU Leuven, Belgium

Last week, Dr. Hu visited KU Leuven, Belgium to attend the public PhD defense of Dr. Hafeez, who previously spent three months as a visiting student at the BIOR lab. During the visit, Dr. Hu also gave a seminar at the Department of Electrical Engineering titled “Decarbonization of building and urban energy systems: a multiscale data-driven approach.” The talk discussed how data-driven methods can support better design and management decisions for building and urban energy systems across multiple scales, from equipment and buildings to communities and cities.
