July 2026 | S$3.06M Singapore-Korea Grant Awarded to Advance DER Flexibility and Feeder Resilience

Excited to share that our Singapore-South Korea 🇸🇬 🇰🇷 team has secured approximately S$3.06 million in combined funding through the EMA-KETEP Joint Grant Call.

The call is jointly supported by Singapore’s Energy Market Authority (EMA) and the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP). Our funded project is titled: “From DER Flexibility to Feeder Resilience: Online Estimation, Feeder-Aware Aggregation, and Quantum-Accelerated Coordination”.

The growing deployment of distributed energy resources (DERs), including PVs, battery energy storage systems (BESSs), and EV chargers, will make power grid operation increasingly complex in Singapore and Korea. The uncoordinated operation of DERs may contribute to network congestion and capacity constraints. However, when properly managed, these resources can provide valuable flexibility, support power system needs, and strengthen grid resilience.

Our project aims to translate the device-level flexibility of PVs, EVs, and individual and shared BESSs into feeder-level resilience through online flexibility estimation, feeder-aware aggregation, quantum-accelerated coordination, and GIS-based digital twins.
